Shawn & Scott Shepherd

We are visual artists/potters from Franklin, Tennessee located just outside of Nashville.  In 2021, we became interested in learning about and creating 3D ceramic pottery art.  We started our own home pottery studio in 2022 and are now selling pottery at local and regional craft shows as well as this website. We are continually taking classes and learning new techniques and skills and have really grown as artists during the past few years.

Both of us have always been actively involved in artistic ventures.  

 

Shawn is a retired elementary teacher and always incorporated art activities in her classroom.  

 

Outside of teaching, she has worked in various mediums ranging from pen and ink to watercolor to acrylics. The Artwork Gallery page of this site will show various pieces from these mediums. She is also quite an accomplished quilter.  In recent days, she began working with alcohol ink on ceramics and it was just a natural step into creating pottery both on the wheel and building pottery by hand.

Scott studied theatre in college and has always dabbled in theatre, from designing and building scenery to  acting and directing.   He recently retired from the business world after many years of putting together conventions and trade shows.  Having an artistic background, he has now joined with Shawn in creating pottery.  

 

We have found that we each have our own unique style when making new pottery pieces.  Our work covers a wide variety of pottery styles.  We do not confine ourselves to working with just one style of pottery.
